Logitech MK270 vs MK345: what is the difference?
Choose the Logitech MK270 for a shallower keyboard body and an either-hand mouse. Choose the MK345 for an integrated palm rest and a right-hand mouse, allowing room for its deeper keyboard. Both are full-size USB-receiver combos in our Desk & Tech list; use the dimensions below to check the space on your desk.

Compare the actual keyboard footprint and included parts
The dimensions below follow the MK270 and MK345 US product pages, checked on October 25, 2026. Use them to mark out a desk or keyboard tray, then match the selected layout and part number before ordering.
| Specification | Logitech MK270 | Logitech MK345 |
|---|---|---|
| Keyboard body | 441 × 149 × 18 mm | 447.2 × 186.7 × 21.4 mm |
| Mouse body | 60 × 99 × 39 mm | 67.9 × 105.4 × 38.4 mm |
| Mouse shape | Compact, either-hand shape | Contoured right-hand shape |
| Included items | Keyboard, mouse, USB receiver, documentation; 2 AAA keyboard batteries and 1 AA mouse battery | Keyboard, mouse, USB receiver, documentation; 2 AAA keyboard batteries and 1 AA mouse battery |
The MK345 takes more front-to-back space, so trace its complete body rather than measuring only the letter keys. On a pull-out tray, check the clear opening between brackets and the space above the keys. Keep a separate movement area for the mouse beside the keyboard; its body dimensions alone do not describe the space your hand needs.
MK270 or MK345: the practical difference
| What matters at your desk | Option to compare | Check first |
|---|---|---|
| Full-size keys and a compact mouse | Logitech MK270 | Keyboard width, number-pad layout and mouse size. |
| An integrated palm rest and a right-hand mouse | Logitech MK345 | Keyboard depth, palm-rest position and mouse hand. |
| Moving between computers or using a tablet | Compare the connection requirements before choosing either | Supported devices, USB receiver and any switching needs. |
Logitech MK270: full-size layout, compact mouse
Logitech describes the MK270 as a full-size keyboard with a number pad and media controls, paired with a compact mouse shaped for either hand. It uses a 2.4 GHz wireless connection through a USB receiver. That combination makes it an option to compare for everyday typing and number entry at one desk.
Before choosing, mark out the keyboard’s footprint on your desk and leave a separate area for moving the mouse. If you use the number pad often, keep it in the comparison; if your desk is narrow, also consider whether a smaller keyboard layout would suit your work.

Logitech MK345: palm rest and right-hand mouse
Logitech’s MK345 product page lists a full-size keyboard with a number pad, an integrated palm rest and adjustable keyboard height. Its contoured mouse is designed for the right hand, and the combo connects through a 2.4 GHz USB receiver.
Compare this option when you want the palm-rest area built into the keyboard. Check the complete front-to-back depth against your desk, including space for papers or a laptop. The mouse’s handed shape is a useful distinction when choosing a set for yourself or a shared workstation.

Check the receiver and selected layout
Wireless describes how the keyboard and mouse communicate; the computer connection still matters. Check the selected package’s receiver, your available computer port and supported operating system. For a laptop with only USB-C ports, check the complete connection path and adapter compatibility before ordering.
Logitech’s MK270 specifications cover several keyboard, mouse and receiver combinations. Read the specifications for the model numbers in your selected package, especially when checking a replacement receiver. Also check the keyboard layout shown in the listing, including key legends and Enter-key shape, and whether the batteries you need are included.
A quick buying checklist
- List your typing tasks and decide whether you use a number pad regularly.
- Measure the keyboard area and leave comfortable mouse movement space beside it.
- Choose the mouse shape for the hand you use and the people sharing the desk.
- Confirm the selected layout, operating system, receiver and computer port.
- Check package contents and the return policy before choosing the exact version.
Our suggestion is to compare the MK270 first for a straightforward full-size setup, then the MK345 when the built-in palm rest and right-hand mouse fit your preferences. For either set, compare the keyboard footprint, mouse hand and receiver with your desk and computer.

Two questions for a home-office setup
Which keyboard and mouse combo fits everyday home-office work?
Start with the jobs you repeat: entering figures, writing documents and moving between windows. Both sets have a number pad; compare the MK270 when you want the shallower keyboard body and an either-hand mouse, and the MK345 when you prefer its built-in palm rest and right-hand mouse. For a shared desk, include the other person’s mouse hand in that decision. Lay out a paper rectangle using the table, put your normal notebook or paperwork beside it, and check that you can reach the mouse without moving the keyboard out of position. This gives you a useful fit check before choosing the set.
Can I choose either combo for a MacBook Pro?
Check the exact package’s operating-system list and receiver connection first. Logitech’s linked US pages list Windows and ChromeOS for these receiver-based sets. For a MacBook Pro purchase, choose a version whose manufacturer explicitly lists your macOS version and check its key legends against the shortcuts you use. An adapter addresses the physical port connection; operating-system support still needs its own check. If you want to switch between a MacBook and another device, include that requirement when comparing models, along with the number of available ports and the receiver you would need to move.
Plan the rest of the same desk
Once the keyboard area is marked, use our laptop stand and monitor riser guide to compare the screen support behind it and any opening you want to use for storage. For everyday desk cleaning, our microfiber-cloth guide helps separate cloths by job. Follow the keyboard maker’s care instructions for electronics, and keep the desk-surface cloth separate from cloths used elsewhere around the home.
For a home-office gift that adds task lighting, compare our three desk-lamp picks by mounting and power before choosing the package.
Before buying a keyboard and mouse gift, compare mouse-pad and desk-mat sizes for the complete setup so the keyboard, mouse and writing area fit together.
